This skiing area contains a dazzling 64 fast cable cars and lifts, around 160 km of descents of all difficulties, some of them with an altitude difference of more than 1000 metres, and a cutting edge artificial snow system. Recent years have seen large investments in this area. The old chair lifts have been removed, replaced or improved. They even created an artificial lake to supply water for the many snow machines. The area that can be artificially covered in snow has also been enlarged.
For a few years now, the skiing towns of Jochberg and Pass Turn have been connected to Kitzbühel and Kirchberg, making for a single interconnected skiing area. Not only skiers and snowboarders will enjoy this area. Those more inclined towards ‘inner peace’ will find more than enough opportunity in the area’s 120 km cross-country and hiking network.
Excellent connection to skiing areas
Thanks to the modern lift network, you won’t waste much time waiting. The 3S cable car connects Kirchberg’s skiing area (Pengelstein and Hahnenkamm) with those of Jochberg and Paß Thurn. Across the entire area between Ascha and Paß Thurn, you can ski in both directions without having to get on a shuttle bus.
After-ski activities are myriad
From rookie fields for beginners to a ski safari from Kirchberg to the Hahnenkamm (including the fast and challenging ‘Streif’ descent for experts), everybody will find their own challenges here. Snowboarders will find the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Hahnenkamm to be paradise.
Skiing area of possibilities
The skiing town, with its scattered farms and chalets, is located in a valley surrounded by forested mountains. The Jochberg skiing area has something for everyone. There is a practice field and a skiing school for beginners, and beautiful descents through the forests of the Kitzbüheler Alpen around Jochberg for the more experienced skiers. The Jochberg area is connected by way of a modern cable car line to the popular and vast skiing area of Kitzbühel/Kirchberg
