The Zillertal

The Zillertal 3000 ski area originated with the merger of the skiing areas of Mayrhofen, Finkenberg, Hippach and Lanersbach, and is the largest sub area of the Zillertal. Skiers can choose from more then 200 kilometres’ worth of slopes up to an altitude of 3250 metres...

This area is suitable for both beginning and experienced winter sports enthusiasts. There are long, maintained slopes for the beginners and steep mogul slopes for the more advanced among us. Snowboarders, too, will enjoy this area, which includes a fun park.

From Mayrhofen, the Penken cable car leads to the skiing area of the name. Just like the adjacent skiing areas and the separate area of Ahorn, Penken offers a varied mix of blue and red slopes. There are straightforward descents as wide as autobahns, which are perfect for the average skier.

Cross-country or hiking? No problem!

Do you prefer cross-country skiing or hiking? You, too, will find this diverse area to your liking, for there is 14 km of classic cross-country trails and 14 km of skating trails. Both trails are also lit at night! The hikers among us have almost 70 kilometres of hiking paths at their disposal.

Free shuttle bus for ski pass owners

With one single ski pass you can make us of the entire Zillertal, which in total comprises 140 lifts and 400 km of slopes. Between all the different towns (including Gerlos, Zell am Ziller, Fügen and Köningsleiten) go frequent shuttle buses which you can ride for free if you have a ski pass. You can also ride the train from Jenbach to Mayrhofen for free with the same pass.
