Together, the towns of Kaprun and Zell am See comprise the skiing area known as ‘Europa Sportregion’. This area is among the top destinations in Austria! The 130 kilometres’ worth of slopes have something to offer for everyone, whether beginner or advanced.

Apart from skiing, this area also has plenty of hiking opportunities. The 130 km of slopes have something to offer for everyone. Also of importance is the fact that the region has a very high chance of snow thanks to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, the summit of which is slightly higher than 3200 metres. For snowboarders and freestylers there is a fun park on the Schmittenhöhe including a boarder cross park, and on the glacier is a second half pipe that meets competition standards.

When there is enough snow, cross-country skiers can enjoy around 230 km of trails. Schüttdorf is the starting point of the 200 km Pinzga trail, among others. In
January and February you can even ski across the Zell lake! This area also has plenty to offer for hikers.

Haus Kleineisen
Haus Kleineisen is a stylish chalet, situated across from the Zeller Bergbahn. The chalet contains 6 well-equipped bedrooms (4 of which have a private shower/toilet and 2 of which use a communal bathroom). After an exhausting day of skiing, the cosy Stube is a heavenly place to be, with its view on the valley descent.

In no more than 5 minutes you can walk to the fun town centre, where you’ll find many shops and places to eat and drinks. Of course, those who have been in Zell am See before know it’s not as big as London, Paris or Tokyo. But where versatility is concerned, it beats out many of its metropolitan rivals. In Zell am See you’ll find opportunities for shopping, culture, swimming, skiing, hiking and nightlife all in one. You can’t even do that in New York!
