The Châtel Concept

Ever since 1985, Châtel Travel has been organising alpine holidays according to a successful formula that seems to appeal to a large portion of winter sport enthusiasts. By combining the good parts of staying at a hotel with the advantages offered by an apartment or chalet, your alpine holiday can be made all the more enjoyable and remain affordable at the same time.

Stylish, comfortable chalets
The basic idea is this: a large, stylish chalet, located on or at walking distance from the slopes, in a large skiing area where snow is guaranteed. Every chalet has a cosy common room, the Stube. This is the central room where all guests meet. Here, a tasty breakfast will be waiting for you in the morning and after skiing there will be tea, although naturally, a warm glass of Glühwein is also an option. In the evening, the Stube is the place to meet for pleasant conversation or a game.

Dutch Chalet staff

One or two carefully selected Dutch chalet hosts (also English speaking) stay at each chalet. Apart from silently taking care of the chalet’s household and preparing your breakfast, afternoon tea and coffee, they also serve as your hosts and can answer all your questions. They can arrange discounts on skiing passes or equipment rentals, organise activities such as a Cheese fondue evening or a toboggan night and can also act (as per agreement) as babysitters or guides. And... you won’t have to look for him/her, because they will be living right with you in the chalet. One day each week, the chalet staff is off-duty after breakfast.

The best skiing areas in Austria
Names such as Sölden, Europa Sportregion, Ski Arlberg, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and Sportwelt Amadé speak for themselves!

Chalet booking
If you’ve already decided to go on holiday with a group, Châtel offers you the possibility of booking an entire chalet. Holding a family reunion in the snow, going on a trip with your club or taking the entire company to celebrate achieving a target: Châtel is perfectly capable of accommodating you and is happy to advise you on which chalet/area best meets your group’s criteria. This will depend on whether there are, for example, children in the group, amateur skiers and/or professional, cross-country skiers, those who like the apres-ski, those who like it quiet, and so forth, all these factors we can take into account in order to make your holiday a great one. Take into account that it is not possible to use the kitchen in the chalet.

The Châtel formula certainly also works for families with children. For example, our chalet staff can (as per agreement) babysit your children for a night. In the chalets that serve dinner, it is also possible to have dinner served for the children first, with the parents dining after their children go to bed. Every chalet is equipped with 1 baby cot and 1 highchair.

Single room booking (starting in Autumn)
Going on holiday as a couple or in a small group? If so, you can book one or multiple rooms within a chalet. You will meet the other chalet guests in a relaxed and free environment. In the last few years, Châtel Travel has been receiving more and more international guests next to the Dutch ones! The way Châtel Travel works allows you to freely meet other guests and plan ski trips together if you wish. Our Norwegian guests, for example, might be persuaded to teach you the fine art of Telemark skiing!

Apartment based on self-catering
Would you prefer an apartment with its own kitchen? Chatel Reizen also offers a number of apartments that are rented out on a self-sufficiency basis. You can check in with our chalet staff and they will point you to your own apartment. You have access to your own living room/kitchen and private bathroom. Of course you can always contact our staff at the chalet if you have any questions, we assume that you are self-sufficient, booking breakfast, for example, is not possible.

The trip
Our chalets are well accessible by car. Those who travel by train can get off at Bludenz (Gaschurn), Landeck (Fiss), Ötztal Bahnhf (Sölden and Huben), Zell am See (Zell am See) or St. Johann im Pongau (Großarl). To reach Stuben, get off at the Langen station, which is 3 kilometres away and one stop before St. Anton am Arlberg. Additionally, there are various shuttle bus services that can take you to your destination form the airport.

Via the search&book button you can find the prices of the chalets, rooms and/or apartments. The prices for the rooms and chalets always include breakfast, the prices for the apartments are based on self-sufficiency. The tourist tax is exclusive.
